Anyone ever met this guy? He's got this philosophy on hate:

Never say anything good to anyone, never say I love you ever. When you hold something in, it builds more tension, and makes you more inclined to DO something good for someone--since actions speak louder than words.

However, if you hate someone, or have ill feelings toward them, then say it. When you express something, verbally it dilutes the feelings you had: catharsis.

So that said, i wonder what he'd think of this tribe.

The watered down stories I keep watching. The blatant movie rip offs. And the previews for movies I've seen a dozen times with a different name. I'm sick to death of watching movies and leaving with a bad fucking taste in my mouth. Can't I see one? Just one movie that isn't a comedy that leaves me feeling good. I mean fuck! This is getting ridiculous... Scratch that, it is ridiculous.

I so sick of movies that I think are going to be decent turning out to be crap. Even worse the people who recommend such crap. It makes me feel as I'm moving farther away from everyone. I feel I can't value anyone’s opinion anymore.

Bottom line people suck. And not all of them are Republican.

Neighbors

I can't believe I didn't share this little nugget of how much I hate party people. I should be ashamed of myself.

I have these neighbors whose apartment is diagonally across from my bedroom wall, and it's all frat-boy types, DEFINITELY party people. Most of the time I ignore them, since it's usually a weekend when they party and the music stops around 1, pretty reasonable for a 24 hour city, right? The obnoxiously loud "dude" and "get me another beer" and "stupid slut" comments can get a bit irksome, so I try to send some loving energy into the universe... you know, "please God, let them inhale their beer and choke on it during the next sip" or "God, if you're listening, please make the STD-infested ho-boys go back inside where their 'sluts" are".

Anyway, a few weekends ago, I'm calmly and deeply sleeping in my bed. Go figure, it's 6:45 in the morning on a Saturday. Suddenly Johnny Cash comes blaring out of the party-people apartment. I don't mean I can hear an occasional twang of a guitar, or the muffled voice of the man in black. Oh no, I can hear it like Johnny just got raised from the dead and is throwing a concert in my fucking bedroom. I waited about 15 mintues, seeing if perhaps the dumbshit partiers would realize all their windows and doors were open, or perhaps realize the time, or maybe, just maybe, realize they were waking up the Governator over in Cali from the volume of this music. No, they didn't.

So what did I do? I opened my window, took a big deep breath and screamed "turn that shit off you stupid fucktards, it's 6:45 in the morning!" A little hatred goes a long way - the music wasn't turned off, but my bellow made it to their ears OVER the Johnny Cash, and the music was promptly turned down and I fell back asleep within 10 minutes.

So it seems that it's been pretty quiet cuz we've all been avoiding parties, and the whole "out of place, out of mind" phenonemon seems to be taking it's effect.

Well, I just went to this annual Thanksgiving thing that my schools has at this restuarant for us US students, since Poland doesn't celebrate TG.

And yeah, to sum it up, it's SOOOOOOOO LAAAAAAMMMMMME cuz the girls get all dressed up, and bitchy, and the guys just dick around like they're back in HS again, and i feel just about as awkward as I did with my fire-engine red hair and leather pants and fishnet shirt at my HS prom. It's funny, punk seems so normal when you aren't surround by girls in satin dresses and guys with too much gel in their hair.

I remembered how lame things can be, it's been a while. But I remember now that I enjoy anti-party scenes a lot more. Organized fun is so lame.

Yeah, for every party person their is a co-dependent support network that let's them slide on their stupid and bad behaviour. I had a friend (still do and she's not partying as hard any longer as she's become a responsible mother...I hope) who couldn't resist the need to go, go, go when it came to partying and extreme experiences. I helped her out a couple of times but didn't really have a lot of fun a lot of the time when I joined her.

Her and her friends would show up and if they got bored (which was frequently) they would do things like toss things in the jacuzzi, start a table on fire, take an extra pill, use lit cigarettes to burn half-assed Tao symbols in the couch, etc. (Okay, that last one is an exaggeration but you get where I'm going with this...I hope.)

On the bright side, they would often have snuggle-fests too. However, I never joined them because there was always at least one or two people in her cliche that I just could not stand.

I finally woke up to how unhealthy this behaviour was when I invited her to a party at a mansion that a friend was the caretaker for. It was a lot of musicians and she didn't know anyone, got bored (I admit that I was little help) and tried to light the stairway on fire, poured booze in the hot tub, etc. The only reason I caught her trying to light the stairs on fire and had to ask her to leave. Very embarrassing.

Okay, I'm not really a party person. I just like to put on airs. I've been to Burning Man--so what? I'm lame and I know it.

The most outrageous thing that ever happened at a party (that I still remember) was sliding down the stairs on my stomach. Or, was it the graduation party where I took a water color set and painted pictures of people on the deck above without them knowing it...that the host loved and kept. Uh, see, I'm lame and I've no doubt ruined many a happening party. And, you know what? It doesn't bother me! I suck less.

am i a party person if i smoke pot on a daily basis? but i don't go to parties because actually i hate them. to be perfectly honest, for the past several months the mornings when i DON'T go into work rather baked at 9am are rarities. and those times when i HAVE been stoned, i've more than competently completed my work, written an A- paper for my linguistics class (while getting paid for not working, mind you), and done some calculus review just for fun. and my reasoning (whether or not it's poor reasoning ain't my thrust here) is that if i can accurately do calculus while i'm stoned...that's more than most people can say for themselves when they are performing at top speed. so what the fuck? who the hell cares if i'm stoned or not as long as i'm functioning properly? now, of course i don't advocate people smoking pot and stuff if they're in a highly sensitive job like a fucking surgeon or something. i'm a paper-pusher by profession and thus i don't run the risk of putting others in danger, unless i inflict a violent paper cut across the eyeball maybe. so, to quote an anonymous pothead: "whatever"

Look, I don't mind party people as long as they don't drone on and on about how they are going to party hard when they get to ["Thailand", Paris, London, Munich, Hawaii, Los Angeles, New York, "Mexico", Rio, New Orleans, Amsterdam, ad nauseum]! Or, recounting all the years they spent partying in that/those places.

Yeah, you've been a buffoon and an alkie--so? Did you do anything worthwhile? Is your life all about going from spot to spot until you wear out your welcome?

The people that are jealous don't bother me as much. Still, stop all that gushing! Crap, go party if that's what you want to do. You might as well burst your fantasy bubble about what its all about and get over the idolatry given to the perpetual partiers. If you aren't bright enough to realize that jet-set partying is being done by folks who don't know what else to do with their worthless lives then you should at least go an find out instead of wasting my time frothing about how cool and "worthwhile" that lifestyle is. Ugh.

I assume most of you all have a similar history?

I have a lot of friends that are still going strong. I am always getting invitations to parties that my friends are throwing....I am not even remotely temped to go anymore.I guess that is sort of the next level of party person..The ones who party so much and take it so seriously that they get in to party and event promotion as a career.

I almost made it to this level of party tastic stupidity. I still enjoy a drink and I have been know to cut loose once in a while but I no longer Party like it is a hobby/ pastime/ sport.

"let s dance all night"..........er no I want to get some sleep, I have things to do tommorow, and I don't want to wake up some day and see a leathery battle, worn face in the mirror.

I still consider these folks my friends but Sometimes I just want to slap them......get a life, the only reason that music sounds good is because your tripping...

Sucky friends of friends at parties

Okay, you've met them and you've wondered...why the F does my friend hang out with this person.

Two anecdotes.

One. Not my fault. When I was littler a good friend of mine would invite her abusive, psycho friends to parties. One of these folks always had a tendency to totally ignore my existence and to push me for just being in her way. I hate people who are rude just to get attention or because they are afraid that you will steal attention away from them or are so desperate for attention but are so messed up that they can't think of any other way to interact. Yeah, you sat behind me in highschool and I guess getting a law degree didn't make you a better person. This person was so rude to me once that when she came over for a dinner party at my apartment (at my friend's request) she didn't even say 'hi' or acknowledge my presence. I may suck but you suck worse.

Two. Blamed on me. A friend of mine who had sworn off women because of his second divorce. He shows up at my place dressed in black leather pants and vest. Proceeds to get drunk on beer, breaking a few bottles of my housemate's best home brew in the garage, hits on all and only the cute women at the party, including the woman I'm interested in impressing (which he knows about), gets all the other folks at the party mad at me for inviting him, and then breaks down crying when I ask him to leave. Not bad for a Born Again Christian, eh! F*ck! Out!

(He always gets the beautiful--Christian--women too; WTF was he thinking behaving like that at a party in Berkeley?!)
